Excerpts from liner notes by: Henry M. Futcher, WFLO AM & FM, Farmville, VA Bluegrass Fans and Friends, "Music, the universal language, is well spoken in "Pink Shoes & Bluegrass Blues" by 17 year old Heather Berry and the Virginia Carolina Band. After 48 years in music by past and present greats, I am still moved by a possible future great! . . . ." I was there with her supportive parents when 12 year old Heather sang with the Lewis Family, and later with Charlie Waller. Tom T. and Dixie Hall are also fans of her angelic voice and her work on the autoharp and flat-picking guitar. However, no building stands without a firm foundation, which is the Virginia Carolina band. On banjo is Harvey Mays, who always displays class as he enhances the vocalist. Blind since birth, Henry Boitnott has 20/20 musical vision on mandolin and finger-picked guitar. His wife, Judy, sets the beat with her bass guitar. Listen now as something old becomes something new." |
